Holy Angel University is a prestigious educational institution that has been in the industry for decades.
It was formerly called as “Holy Angel Academy” back in June 5, 1933 where it was located in the well-known convent in the city, the Holy Rosary Parish Church. The academy started off with just 78 students who came from other schools across the city. Holy Angel Academy was founded by Javier Nepmuceno who was a sophomore student back then and his father is Juan De Dios Nepomuceno who was the former city mayor of Angeles. The school was a result of all the consolidated vision and advocacies coming from Javier himself together with his father, Don Juan and Fr. Pedro Pablo Santos. It was then hailed as the very first Catholic school that was established by non-diocese people and the first educational institution in the town that was co-educational. As the years go by, the school opened new programs and course offerings and along with it are the different ordeals and difficult circumstances that this school went through. In 1961, the name was then changed from Holy Angel Academy to “Holy Angel College”. Years have passed and the school continues to progress with the improved facilities and growth of professional faculty members, it seems that everything fell into the right places.
Holy Angel University was declared by then Archbishop of San Fernando, Oscar V Cruz in 1979. As of today, this remarkable university is now a seven-hectare campus with over 17,000 student population found at the heart of the central business district and one of the largest universities in the region. Holy Angel University has been recognized by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as one of the country’s top universities bearing a Level II accreditation granted by Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). Indeed, Holy Angel University is a major breakthrough in the field of education and it strives to continue its pursuit of quality education and academic excellence while continuously promoting social development as well as spiritual growth.
